Asked and Answered

The questions buyers ask on the first call, answered the way we answer them.

Who actually makes your products?

The apparel factories in our network make the protective apparel: isolation gowns, surgical gowns, drapes, coveralls, underpads and the SMS and poly laminate materials behind them, in China and in Cambodia. Alice has run production in them for twenty years. The rest of the catalog comes from a small number of factories we have worked with for years and inspect ourselves. Every quotation names the production site.

Do you supply the large US distributors?

The apparel factories in our network have supplied the largest US medical distributors for two decades. We do not publish which products go to whom, and we do not put customer names on this site. The same lines and the same QC run your order.

Why buy from you instead of my distributor?

Your distributor buys from factories like ours, adds their margin and their service. If you need the service, keep them. If you are a distributor, a private label brand or a health system with a direct sourcing program, you are paying for a layer you can run yourself. We give you the factory price plus one agreed fee, and the trail so you can see what you are paying for.

Made in China or made in Cambodia. How do I choose?

Same spec, same QC, same trail. China gives the full range and the fastest first run. Cambodia gives an origin outside the China specific US Section 301 surcharges, which matters for US programs that need it. For US delivery we quote both origins side by side and let the landed cost decide. For other markets China is usually the answer.

What are your minimums?

One production run, and the quotation states the minimum for each line. Smaller quantities are possible on stocked items.

I run a practice or surgery center. Can I buy ten cases?

Not directly, and a ten case order does not run on the same trail as a production run. Send the request anyway. We introduce you to a stocking distributor who buys from us, so you get the product at a fair price without the minimum.

How long from purchase order to delivery?

Your quotation carries a dated schedule for production and freight. Repeat orders on a locked spec are faster.

How do I know a gown meets AAMI Level 3 and not just the label?

Every level is tied to a test: AATCC 42 and AATCC 127 for Levels 1 to 3, ASTM F1670 and F1671 for Level 4. We test at the material lot and again at pre shipment through SGS or Intertek, and the reports sit on the Trust ID of the product you receive. You can scan a sample before you place the order.

Can I put my own brand on it?

Yes. Private label is most of what we do. Packaging, labels, inserts and carton marks are part of the spec lock, and the artwork approval is a step on the trail.

What about tariffs?

We tell you before you quote. For US buyers, gowns, drapes and most nonwoven consumables from China carry the general China rates and stay competitive, and the Cambodia line sits outside the China specific surcharges. Face masks and respirators from China carry a 50% Section 301 surcharge since January 2026, medical gloves 100%, syringes 100%. For those we quote a second origin or say plainly that China is not the route. Our quotations state the tariff basis of the landed cost, and the tariff page on this site is updated monthly.

How and when do I pay?

You pay for what you approved, in milestones tied to the trail. Terms are stated on the quotation. There is no subscription and no platform fee.

What if a shipment fails inspection?

It does not ship. The inspection happens before the balance is due, and the trail shows the failure, the rework and the re inspection. Rework is at our cost when the failure is against the locked spec.

Do you handle FDA registration, 510(k), CE and MDR files?

Our facilities are FDA registered and ISO 13485 certified, and the products carry the registrations listed on their pages: FDA 510(k) where required, CE, and national registrations such as TGA, ANVISA and PMDA on selected lines. We supply the technical file and test reports your importer of record or notified body asks for. We do not act as your regulatory agent.

Can I visit the factory?

Yes. Buyers visit before or during their first order, in China or in Cambodia. SilkNet's team in Shanghai and Hong Kong arranges the trip. Video audits are available for repeat orders.

What is Trust ID?

A QR code on the carton and the product that opens the order's trail: spec, material lot, test reports, inspection, shipping documents and the factory that made it. It exists so that anyone downstream, including a nurse on a ward, can check what they are holding.

What does SilkNet have to do with this?

TMRWD Health is a SilkNet venture. SilkNet is a global trade house that runs China deals for companies that need them done properly. Its legal, logistics and factory partners are the people behind your order here, and the trail is the same way of working.
